The Real Lives of Thomas the Tank Engine focusses primarily upon the content of the Awdry Railway Series.  The site is particularly useful for people interested in the original books and the stories behind the stories, with exclusive information such as Maps, information on the locomotives and their origins, as well as discontinued merchandise from the Railway Series heyday.

Permanent Way Modelling Forum

The Permanent Way Forum specialises in all forms of railway modelling, and is looked after by three credible modellers in their own right.  The forum is affliated to SiF and we welcome modellers of all sorts - narrow gauge, standard, mountain, n gauge, O gauge...and so on!  The staff have set up workbenches for new members, media and film entertainment threads, and several modelling competitions for modellers to get stuck into!

Juniper Junction

Juniper Junction is a stop-motion animation created by two friends, Peter and Paul, telling the story of a Station Master who was nearly outdone by a King, a mouse and a clock.  Set in the early 20th century in a quaint English Railway Station, Juniper Junction is a beautifully created production which appeal to fans of animation, railway enthusiasts and children alike.


If you have an interest in UK based animations or children's programming, then ToonHound is definitely worth a look at.  Throughout is an index of over 500+ shows, each with a fascinating insight which will reawaken happy childhood memories and set you off on a search to find old VHS tapes or see if these shows have been brought out on DVD!


Thomas in the name of God has been set up by Robyn Miller, former owner of The Thomas Shop in South Australia.  Following a legal battle with the rights owners, Robyn has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and is now hoping her writings will allow some healing for herself and help toward the Awdry Family's cause for involvement in the role of Thomas the Tank Engine as a whole.  As mentioned in the Sodor Island News page, any support to Robyn's cause will be highly appreciated and welcomed.
